Welcome to Our Life

Could you imagine a life without beer? I couldn't, but luckily we don't have to.  We're Justin and Veronica, two super beer enthusiasts. This is the formal introduction to our lives together, what our plans are, and a fun look into our passion project with beer and adventure. We are currently residing in the hospitality mecca of Las Vegas. We love each other, we love beer, and we love trying new experiences.


In the beginning, there were two souls, lost and lonely in the world of craft beer. Those two lost souls happen to be Justin and Veronica, and luckily bonded over the love of booze, fun, and Zooey Deschanel. In the beginning of this craft beer love story, they happen to enjoy a Hefeweizen or Blonde and as their palate for craft beer blossomed, so did their passion for each other. Fast forward to now, these two Beer Birds are engaged and getting married at 32North Brewing in San Diego. 
Now that Morgan Freeman is done narrating our perfect love story, lets get into what this is really about. It's about our passion for beer and the creativity and hard work that is involved in making this delicious beverage that we've grown to know and love. There are so many styles, breweries, and interpretations out there that we want to join you in partaking in each one of these fantastic brews. We hope that our viewers and blog subscribers become a big part in continuing our beer journey. In future projects, we'd like to get great feedback, ideas for new brews, and suggestions on what adventures to go on.

Who are We?

Justin is an aspiring master cicerone and brewer from Staten Island, New York. Justin has the attitude of a New Yorker with the laid back personality of West Coast resident.  Justin grew up with two parents in the service industry from birth, so no wonder he flourished in the booming hospitality industry of Las Vegas. Justin's hopes are to grow in the HOPSitality industry with his knowledge and passion about beer. He currently works two jobs both in the downtown district of Las Vegas. This district has so much history and has grown to demand the respect of both hipsters and businessmen alike. He has a job at the Kitchen at Atomic which has one of the premier beer selections available in Las Vegas. He guides guests through a personalized beer experience and hopes he grows the beer community, person by person in this town we live in. Veronica is a Pastry Arts major that loves combining delicious treats with brews that pair with them.  She was born and raised in Vegas and has seen the local breweries sprout up and grow from the beginning.  She is a baker and decorator at Sin City cupcakes that infuses beer and alcohol into delicious baked treats. Also, she is the lead server at Pub 365, where their name comes from the amount of beers carried in house. At both jobs, Veronica has to be creative in how to infuse or discuss these flavors for cupcakes or guests.  Both jobs bring smiles to peoples' faces and that is what Veronica is all about.

As as couple, we take the time to learn about different styles and try different beers. Every Friday, we take a class through Breakthru Beverage to prepare for the ever so daunting Level Two Certified Cicerone test.  Together, we make a great team from start to finish. In preparing for our Certified Cicerone test, to this blog and video series where one falters, the other succeeds. We always learn from each other and grow as much as we can everyday.

 Couple o' Brews?
This blog is a kick-start to your new favorite YouTube channel, Couple o' Brews! During this experience we'll be going on adventures, drinking amazing craft brews, and learning about the world of beer as we know it! This all got started with our application for the World of Beer Drink it Intern. Though we may not have made it to the final selection, we made it to the semi finalists on our first ever video and edit. We realized what a blast we had during that experience, and decided we can make our own fun and start this whole series.  Our idea is to invite you as the viewer to not only watch and read, but also partake in the craft experience and inspire you to get out and enjoy the beautiful world around us.  We welcome any suggestions and are open to ideas about beers to try and places to explore! 


During our videos and blogs, we'll be tasting sooooooooo many beers. We've created our own fun way to classify them, and we call it the BREWS SCALE.

Hop Nuts: Double The Cans, Double the Hops

Check Out My Cans !! As beer lovers, some of the best days in the life are new beer releases. The taste of freshly kegged and canned beer can’t be beat. So when we heard Hop Nuts was doing a double can release this past Friday we were psyched! 18b Is The Place To Be Hop Nuts Brewing is located in the heart of the downtown 18b District on Main St. This area is filled with fun spots to make a day of it, starting with coffee at Makers and Finders, antiquing at Retro Vegas and finish with a fresh beer at Hop Nuts. This week’s release was perfectly timed with First Friday.   Hazeilla DIPA The first of Hop Nuts double can release that we tried was the Hazeilla Double IPA, an 8% Hazy DIPA brewed and double dry hopped with Mosaic, Amarillo, and Nelson Sauvin hops. This beer has an in your face hop character reminiscent of some of the best West Coast IPA’s, but finishes with a bit of sweet melon that reminds you it’s a Hazy IPA.
